I've seen full rainbows, even full double-rainbows before. But I have never seen anything like what happened this morning.

The sky was quite overcast, and really sort of a smoldering orange color. I noticed a few people pulled over and out of their cars, phones in hand, and I thought what the heck is going on?

By the time I got home, I captured a dozen or more of this glorious event. I have shots that are wide and capture the full width of the complete rainbow, but because of the dimness and wide angle, they're less impressive than this shot.

I adjusted it only minimally, because I wanted the posted shot to capture the feel of how still morning-dark it was, and the contrast against this spectacle, that glowed and modulated the mist in the air, like curved laser beams, or like some supernatural event caught in the summoning.
